Live Louder

I don’t normally blog like this, but I guess I just had to this time.

Last Thursday, my cousins’ grandfather, whom I call Tito Tito, passed away after having a stroke and wasn’t able to recover from it. He was actually being operated on another complication, but he suffered from a stroke out of nowhere. I actually just got home from his wake.

Then a few days ago, my mom’s officemate’s cousin met an accident while driving with his friends. The car they hit had in it a family (a mom, a dad, a 1-year old kid, and a grandfather); only the mom and dad survived.

It’s been a pretty depressing series of events, I know, but I guess a lesson could be picked up out of all this: live life to the fullest every single day. Every time we wake up, we should thank God for remembering to wake us up. Because when we have to go, we have to go. It won’t matter whether we are tall or short, fat or thin, ugly or good-looking, smart or dumb, healthy or sick, or in this case, young or old; God will pluck us from the world as quick, if not quicker, as He put us in. Whether you’ve lived a good, long life as my Tito Tito had, or you could barely even make sense of anything going on around you like the 1-year old in the car crash, it won’t matter.

We never know when our time will come, we are only ever sure of something once we’re awake. And because we know that we are awake, that we are alive, we can live out our life to the fullest way we can. And that’s all there really is to it, I guess.
