A Merry Christmas, It Is.

Last Christmas (I gave you my heart, etc. etc.), we found out that after my grandpa fell on his back as he dozed off while on the rocking chair, one of the bones in my his spine was shattered. Fortunately, he wasn’t paralyzed. Unfortunately, he was left semi bed-ridden because of it. He was given the choice to have an operation in order for it to heal faster, but given all his other conditions, and his old age, it more than likely would’ve been a fatal one. So instead, he chose to let it heal on its own time. It’s been a year since, and he’s been back in the hospital for regular check-ups and stuff, therapists have come and gone to the house to sort of help him “exercise” his joints so they won’t swell up. A few weeks ago, after another regular visit to the hospital, we found out that the bone that had shattered had somehow COMPLETELY HEALED. I can’t really explain nor describe how it healed, because when the doctor explained it, it was in extremely fluent medical jargon, and I’m no med student. All I know is that what happened was something that should have been a bad thing turned into something that helped the bone heal. Imagine that.

Earlier this year, my tito in America suffered from a heart attack while at his job. Fortunately, one of his employees knew how to deal with a person who had just experienced a heart attack, and even more fortunately, there was a hospital just a few blocks away that sent an ambulance in no time. If he had arrived at the hospital just a little later, he wouldn’t have survived at all. Then a few days later, WHILE IN THE HOSPITAL, his heart straight up flat lined out of nowhere. Fortunately, yet again, one of the more experienced, and probably physically fit, male nurses lifted him off his bed and carried him to a defibrillator (had to search that word up) table. Once again, he survived. And now he’s back home (in his house in Minnesotta, not here), looking as healthy and jolly (Christmas-related!) as he could ever be. We actually just got off Skype with him.

These weren’t really Christmas miracles, but they were miracles nonetheless.
They DO happen, you just gotta have faith. Merry Christmas, guys! :)
